1. Introduction
Horn Transfer Pty. Ltd. and our affiliates ("BlinkRemit," "we," or "us") care about your privacy and are committed to processing your personal information in accordance with fair information practices and applicable data protection laws to better serve you.

This Privacy Statement describes how BlinkRemit collects, uses, protects, and shares your personal information when you use our Services online through our website, in retail, through our mobile app, and via our in-person agent network, as well as your choices about the way your information is collected and used.
2. Personal Information We Collect
- (a) Identity and Contact Information: Name, date of birth, address, phone number, email, and identification details (e.g., passport, driver’s licence).
- (b) Transaction and Financial Details: Transfer amount, purpose, payment methods, and recipient details (used with the recipient’s consent or lawful authority).
- (c) Compliance Data: Documentation to meet Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) requirements.
- (d) Technical/Usage Data: Device/browser info, IP address, app events, Firebase Analytics, LogRocket logs.
- (e) Communications: Emails, call recordings, and any direct correspondence with our support teams.
3. How We Collect Personal Information
- Direct Provision: You provide data when creating accounts, submitting ID documents, or contacting support.
- Automated Tracking: Cookies and SDKs (Firebase, LogRocket) capture usage data and diagnostic information.
- Identity Verification: GreenID checks your ID details, but we do not collect biometric data (e.g., facial recognition).
- Third Parties: Our payout partner (Bakaal), financial institutions, and regulators may supply or receive information as needed to process transactions or comply with legal requirements.
4. Purposes of Collection and Use
We collect and process personal data for various reasons, as outlined below. We have also provided a table showing our detailed purposes and the legal basis for handling your data:

5. Data Disclosure and Sharing
We disclose personal data only as necessary and permitted by law:
- GreenID (ID verification)
- Bakaal (payout partner for international transfers)
- IT/cloud providers, including Firebase and LogRocket, under strict data protection contracts
- Financial institutions (e.g., banks) for transfer processing
- Regulators and government authorities where required (e.g., AUSTRAC)
- Corporate acquirers or affiliates, subject to confidentiality, if there is a merger, sale, or restructuring
We do not sell personal information. If data must be transferred internationally, we ensure adequate safeguards in line with the Privacy Act.
6. In-Person Agent Data Handling
Our in-person agents collect personal information on BlinkRemit’s behalf to facilitate transactions. This generally includes verifying your identity, capturing transaction details, and securely transmitting information to BlinkRemit’s systems. Agents are contractually required to protect personal data in accordance with our privacy standards and Australian law. Depending on your specific operating model, please consider the following:
- Data Scope: What personal or financial data do agents handle beyond basic identity checks?
- Transmission: Do agents enter data into a secure platform directly, or retain paper copies? How are these stored?
- Access Restrictions: What safeguards ensure only authorized staff can view personal details (e.g., locked storage, role-based access)?
- Data Retention by Agents: Do agents retain records locally for any reason? How long, and how do they dispose of them?
- Training and Compliance: How are agents trained in privacy best practices and AML/CTF obligations?
7. International Data Transfers
Certain personal data may be transmitted or accessed outside Australia (e.g., sending funds internationally). We use contractual and technical measures to ensure overseas recipients handle data according to Australian requirements.
8. Data Retention
- We retain customer and transaction records for at least seven years to comply with AML/CTF obligations.
- We delete or de-identify data when no longer needed for legal or operational reasons.
9. How BlinkRemit Secures Your Personal Information
We endeavour to use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative safeguards that comply with applicable government laws and regulations to secure your personal information. We also endeavour to restrict information access to our employees, Agents and representatives that need to know it.
We have the following security measures to protect your information:
- After-hours access to the building is by mill key only and access is monitored by video equipment on the ground floor and in the carpark.
- Our offices are securely locked after-hours.
- All computers have password protection.
- All computers linked to our intranet are password protected and virus protected.
- Our offices are monitored regularly by a security service.
- Our website is protected by a firewall.
- Encryption for data in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest.
- Our employees all sign confidentiality agreements as part of beginning employment with us.
- Incident response plan, including breach notification procedures.
Please contact us immediately in accordance with the "Contact Us" section, if you have reason to believe your personal information held by BlinkRemit may be at risk.
10. Personal Information Quality
We aim to ensure that your personal information is accurate, complete, and up to date. To assist us in this, you need to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information about yourself as requested and properly update the information to us to keep it true, accurate, current and complete.
If you believe that the information is inaccurate or incomplete, please contact us and we will use all reasonable effort to correct the information. If we do not believe the information to be incorrect, we will take reasonable steps to add a statement to the information claiming that you believe the information is not accurate, complete, or up to date.
11. Your Rights and Choices
- Access & Correction: Request access or correction of your personal data.
- Deletion: Request data deletion, where permitted by law (noting mandatory record-keeping under AML/CTF rules).
- Consent Withdrawal: If we introduce marketing, you may opt out at any time.
- Complaints: We respond to privacy complaints in a reasonable timeframe. Unresolved matters can be escalated to the OAIC.
12. BlinkRemit Markets to Its Customers
BlinkRemit will also, subject to your consent, notify you of offers, promotions and updates regarding our products and Services. These may include offers by email, telephone, postal mail, SMS, social media and other communication or digital channels.
You can opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time. If you no longer want to receive marketing-related communications from us on a going-forward basis, you may opt-out by following the instructions in the relevant electronic communication or by contacting us as described in the "Contact Us" section.
Please note that if you opt-out of receiving marketing-related communications from us, we may still send you important service, administrative or transaction-related communications.
13. Cookies and Analytics
We use internet technologies like cookies, tags, and web beacons on our websites, in mobile applications or when you visit a third-party website for which BlinkRemit provides online Services. We use cookies, Firebase Analytics, and LogRocket to enhance user experience and diagnose errors.
BlinkRemit has implemented the capability for the user to manage cookies on our websites. We may read or write cookies based on your preference level. If your browser does not support JavaScript, you can find out about the cookies used on our sites and can only manage the use of cookies through your web browser settings. Please note that if you disable all cookies on your browser, this will limit the features of this site and may impact the ability to complete your transaction.
